T-54/55, a Soviet MBT, is the most produced tank in the world, with some 85-100.00 thousand tanks (sources varies) ever built by Soviet Uralvagonzavod, Polish Bumar-Łabędy Works and Czechoslovakian ZTS Martin.

Like T-34, due to the sheer number of units built it was often used in the movies. Examples are:
- "Rozmowy kontrolowane" (Controlled Calls; during the martial law in Poland every phone call started with a message "Call controlled, call controlled"): Ryszard "Miś" Ochódzki accidentaly destroyed a T-54/55 tank which was chasing him after a fatal misunderstand (illegal "Solidarity" materials were found in his car and nobody believed that he's a secret police's agent) by throwing a bottle of moonshine that ignited on contact with the tank. Interestingly the fire appeared everywhere, but just NOT in the place where the bottle landed.
- "Popiełuszko" - several tanks were seen rolling in front of the priest's car.
- "Operacja Dunaj" - a comedy about Czechoslovakia invasion. One of the scenes involves a combat between T-34 and T-54/55.

A T-54 tank was involved in the tragedy during 1962 Szczecin Military Parade. The road wasn't properly secured and people were standing too close to the moving vehicle. Suddenly one of the T-54s - travelling at the speed of 30 km/h, as the last in the line, veered to the roadside and into a group of people. We'll never know if the driver was drunk or if there was another reason. 7 children were crushed under its tracks, 43 people were injured (including those harmed after the panic broke out among the people).

T-54 and T-55 are so slightly different that some sources put them together under the name "T-54/55". T-62 and T-64 are different tanks, one of those Soviet ugly ducklings. All of them are medium (or main battle) tanks, I think Russians didn't have a heavy tank since the cancellation of IS-3.

IS-4 was one Soviet Heavy Tank with many technical aspects based in Tiger and Panther , produced in 1948 , this tank only was in service with Russian Army and one time this units where movilised to the frontier with China for tension moments.

IS-6 and IS-7 was only prototypes , IS-7 with Road Wheels based on Kingtiger Steel Wheels and IS-6 used many ideas of Dr Porsche for one electrical transmission system , if you search Porsche had the idea first for Ferdinand and Elepant tank hunters.

IS-10 past be the T-10 with the dead of Stalin , T-10M was the last Heavy Tank produced by Soviet Union.

The last Heavy Tank of Soviet Union was the T-10M of post War ,
KV family past to be IS when Kliment Vorochilov lost the aproval od Stalin during the WW2 and KV series past to be "IS" Iosif Stalin , when Stalin dies and lost the good image with Soviet people the new Heavy Tanks past to be only another T series.

All Rusian propaganda made a legend of T-34 but this tank uses one American Suspencion design if you search Walter Christie fast tank u can see the origin of BT soviet series BT (fast tank under licence) A-20 and finally T-34 , from this tanks to T-62
all MBT uses the Christie Suspencion , during the WW2 German concept of MBT change to one more Heavy , if you see the Panther vs all MBT looks heavy , Rusians made the T-44 in the final days of WW2 to copy German Concept , Americans change to MBT the Heavy tank Pershing and Britains made the Centurion , other Rusky mith are the Panther as copy of T-34 , Panther uses a real suspencion with torcion bars , central turret , frontal transmition , imbricate suspencion , its like Porsche techlogy vs one rural tractor as Soviets Generals said in WW2... The Quality of T-34 are the Quanty vs the Enemy
the only common point are the sloped armor but u can see other examples of sloped armor before to T-34

light tank concept survive even today , Americans designs go from WW2 Stuart and Chaffe to post War Walker Bulldog , Sheridan and the modern Calvary Bradley , Soviet BMD and all Air Assault Armor , French AMX-13 family , British Scorpion , etc....

The last Heavy Tanks of USA and Great Britain was the Conqueror (GB) and USA (T.43) in post War , American T-43 was in post war service with Medium M-47 /M48 Patton and light M-41 , only when soviet Union abandonated the Heavy Tanks Production GB and USA too.

NATO officers looks this two monsters as killers of IS-3 in one hipotetical conflict , T-10M was used by soviet army in Prage and Egypt uses many IS-3 vs israel.

sorry 4 my bad english.

After WWII the light/medium/heavy tanks concept were mostly abandoned and most of the MBTs are categorised as medium tanks, even if they weigh as much as WWII heavy tanks.
