Description

SP32 class diesel locomotives were produced in the 1980s in Romanian FAUR works. They were used to haul light passenger trains for short distances. One of them is standing on the side track on Poznan Main Station.

Due to the unreliability of the first unit's Romanian engines, these locomotives were nicknamed Caucescu's Revenge , after Romanian dictator and head of state; Romania for some time was not in good relations with other Eastern Block countries, because it followed its independent policy, i.e. condemning Invasion on Czechoslovakia in 1968. The reason for engine's malfunctioning could be that in 1980s Romania suffered from economic crisis, because Caucescu wanted to reimburse Romania's debts (ca. 10 billion dollars)
