PzKpfw V Panther

A scourge of any Allied tak, a pretendend to the title of best medium tank of World War II, the Panther tank is sadly nowhere to be found in Poland nowadays. Most of the Panthers found in the battlefields of WW2 were sent to the steel mills, as valuable sources of priceless steel (which also solved the problem of "ideologically incorrect" equippment in Polish museums). One was excavated in the 1990s, however it was sold illegaly to the USA and is now in California in running condition.

In 2010, "Olek Motocykle" company presented a replica of this tank. Sadly no vehicle could replace Panther's unique overlapping suspension. A BLG-67, bridge-laying version of T-55 tank, was used instead. First the overall shape was restored, then the details were improved. Funnily, the gun was made by a producer of street lamps, for free - as a form of advertisement.

The Panther is used during various reenactements, and due to the lack of original vehicles in Poland, it's an obvious choice for film makers. The Panther was used for the production of Miasto '44 (City 44), telling the story of Warsaw Uprising.
