Mil Mi-24D

A legendary Soviet Mil Mi-24 (NATO Codename: Hind) was also used by Polish Army, and remains in serivce to this day; however due to Ukrainian crisis and a growing threat from Russia Poland is to acquire more modern or suitable machines (AH-64 Apache, Eurocopter Tiger and Agusta A129 Mangusta are being considered).

This Mi-24D was transfered to Polish Army Museum from one of its branches, Polish Military Hardware Museum, also in Warsaw. It belonged to the first batch of Mi-24s, delivered to Poland in 1979. It suffered an accident on take off from Nadarzyce Firing Range on 13 September 1988; it was repaired, and eventually retired in 2000. Currently it awaits restoration.
